When should I arrive?
Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the start time of your first mat class or equipment private. Once you arrive, a wellness coordinator will register you for a two-class introductory card or check you in for your introductory private equipment session. This will also give you time to discuss your class goals and any physical limitations or medical conditions that you may have with your instructor.
Do I need to bring equipment?
Our studios provide all the equipment you need for your mat Pilates or equipment Pilates class, so you do not need to bring anything. However, if you have a mat and would like to bring it to your mat Pilates class, that is fine. Or you may purchase one from our wellness boutique.
What do I wear?
Feeling comfortable is important for relaxation and range of movement. Please wear clothes that you would take a walk in or wear to exercise. Clothes should be well fitting, not baggy, with stretch in the fabric. If you have long hair, you may want to tie it back so it won’t interfere with your practice.
Is Pilates done in bare feet?
Mat and equipment Pilates exercises are done in bare feet or socks. You can remove footwear before entering the studio and leave it in the changing room or in the studio cubbies.
What do I eat before class?
The day of your class, eat light, balanced meals and drink plenty of water. Any physical activity on an empty stomach is not good for the body. At the same time, you do not want to be full, as it will be uncomfortable when doing the Pilates exercises.
Is equipment Pilates offered in all locations?
At this time, equipment Pilates is offered in the Hunt Valley and Mount Washington locations. Mat Pilates is offered in all three locations.
Do I have to pre-register for class?
We ask that all students pre-register before their first mat Pilates class. You can pre-register online or contact us to speak to a wellness coordinator. Please register for the equipment Pilates introductory class by calling a front desk wellness coordinator at our Hunt Valley or Mount Washington location.
